✽ Frequently Asked Questions ✽
What should we do to prepare for our photoshoot?
I would recommend taking a good walk or having a little play session before you come to meet me. Giving them the chance to get some excess energy out will allow them to have an easier time focusing and sitting still if asked. Also, I would try to arrive at our location a little bit early to let them check out the area and go potty. Give your dog and yourself a minute to relax a bit.
What if I have some ideas for our session?
Oh, I love to hear it. Send me your Pinterest boards/TikToks/Insta posts/dream journal entries and we can talk about how we make it happen (or at least get as close as possible). If you have expectations for our time together and what you get out of it - I want to know so you have the best chance of walking away totally satisfied.
I don’t think my dog is well-behaved enough...
No way, crazy dogs are a joy to photograph and easier to capture true candids of. Your dog will lead the session and we will just be around to encourage them to be themselves and have fun. I guarantee I have enough patience for your dog’s shenanigans.
Please disclose any serious behavioral issues before our session.
Can my dog be on a leash?
Safety first - always! If your dog does not have reliable enough recall for the area we are in or you just feel better that way - by all means, let’s keep the leash on.
What should I (the human) wear?
I don’t have a ton of advice in the way of *fashion* but I do know that you should be comfortable, confident, and a different color than your dog.
What do you edit out?
Oh, a bunch of stuff. I make sure to get leashes, eye crusties, drool, and sometimes things in the background that distract from the star of the show. Harnesses can get pretty difficult, so I request that you switch to a collar or a slip lead for our session if possible. If you have any specific requests (for either you or your pet) don’t be afraid to ask. Remember, I want you to love your pictures.

What should we bring?
a minimal/thin leash
any bandanas or other attire you would like to include in some pictures
some of your dog’s favorite treats or an exciting toy
poop bags
a water bowl
What time would our shoot be at?
The best light is going to be right as the sun is coming up, or right before it goes down. The ideal photoshoot might start 1-2 hours before sunset, depending on the location. I do love dreamy morning light, too, so let me know if that interests you!
What if the weather does not cooperate?
No worries at all. If bad weather rolls in, we can reschedule.
Do you photograph other animals besides dogs?
I do! Check out my Portfolio for some examples of my not dog-centered work.
Can you photograph more than one dog?
Yup! If there is more than one dog, I recommend bringing a friend along to help wrangle so we can get solo shots or one on one photos with each dog and person if desired.
Okay, I’m in! How do I book with you?
Oh great! Go ahead over to my Contact/Booking page and I’ll have you enter the information in there to get started. Within a day or so, I’ll send you a more in depth booking form so you can tell me a little more about yourself, your dog, your vibe, your vision, etc.…

Based on your responses, I will give you some date/time options and we will decide on a location. After the date is decided, a retainer fee of $125 (50% of the base session fee) and a couple of your signatures is all that’s left to reserve your spot.
Once you’re booked for your relaxed, zero-pressure session, feel free to reach out with anything that pops into your head before the big day.
